Rosie Downs is a middle-aged screenwriter who’s down on her luck. Having gained modest success in her writing career, she finally has the opportunity to write the life story of her idol Edgar Allan Poe.

While she tries to unravel the mystery surrounding his death, meet her deadline, and keep a roof over her head, Rosie keeps hitting roadblock after roadblock. The films Producer is on her back, her nagging sister keeps pressuring her to find a ‘real job’, and the deeper she dives into the life of Poe, the more she becomes obsessed with him. As she struggles to preserve her life and keep her sanity, someone is sabotaging her hard work – Edgar Allan Poe himself.
